IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW AND TIPS
Painter has been through many changes over the years and in the process they have changed their own categories and changed variants in categories sometimes totally deleting them from newer upgrades. I have thousands of brushes from the past I still love and use often. Some of the brushes in these categories are from older versions of Painter and no longer can be found and some are in the current version of Painter but you may not have been able to figure out what to use them for or where they are. The other brushes will amaze you with their versatility and their rich strokes. It’s a huge mix of brushes but finally in categories with names that make sense in how to use them.
The purpose of this brush pack is to help you to decide easily what brush to use for what you are painting. You will find many choices in each category.
I have included SOFT CLONER and SATURATION ADD to every category as they are the two basic brushes that I use the most. SATURATION ADD no longer is in Painter current version.
There is a total of 183 brushes in total!!
TIPS ON THE NAMES OF THE BRUSHES AND WHAT THEY MEAN
- MOVER this brush will only move paint that has already been laid down on the canvas. It will not ADD any paint.
- BLENDER These brushes will mix up the strokes already on the canvas. They will NOT add color unless there is a RESAT setting that can be turned up. Then they become lovely painting brushes.
- MULTI these brushes will put down a mix of colors but usually they work best if while painting you lift the pen often and the color will change
- COLOR the brushes marked Color will also work best lifting the stylus often and surprise you with a variety of colors. Be sure change the colors on the color wheel to get the best mix of colors.
