Tuscany & Umbria September 2015

SEPTEMBER 21 TO 27 2015 Monday to Sunday

Itinerary (may change slightly and adjusted)

Fine Art Tour

Unlike other trips I have done this is more of a fine art tour for photographers and not a “photo educational” tour. The tour guide for this is an amazing professional Italian tour guide who deals consistently with photographers and enthusiasts and knows what we want to see, eat and drink. I have been in talks with Max for over a year about this tour and we are finally putting it on the books. He will be taking care of everything that has to do with the tour but I will be teaching fine art and painting techniques and we will have computer time to explore our images and to share and discuss techniques. I will also be showing some simple painting demos and how to think about your images into paintings and then beyond into finished art pieces.

This itinerary will be adjusted to allow us time for processing images and computer workshops and wet painting one session. We will have the FULL experience from my discussing why I choose a reference photo on location to prepping the image in Photoshop and Painter and finishing the image into a painting.

To attend this workshop you must enjoy visiting some of the most beautiful locations in the world, love eating delicious Italian food alongside an equally delectable glass of wine, and enjoy being in the company of other creative people all while being visually inspired. You do NOT need to be a professional photographer or even bring a DSLR. ANY camera is a camera.
You also do NOT need to be proficient in software programs but you will want them loaded on your laptop even if it’s the free trials so you can experience what I do with them. You will be sent a list of software and plugins I will be using.
Lastly, you do NOT need to be a painter of any kind but only have a desire to explore paint and enjoy the creativity of being in the presence of “paint” be it digital or wet acrylics.
Attendees are encouraged to share this once-in-a-lifetime experience with a guest and can bring a partner to join them on all but the classroom portions of the workshop. Many attendees bring a friend, spouse or other family members. There’s a lot for everyone to see and enjoy, even if you’re not a photographer or artist. It’s always fun to see the “non” photographers getting caught up in the joy of taking photographs throughout the week. We all explore together, so our non-photographer guests will enjoy everything with us. The only part of the workshop reserved for attendees and not their guests will be the workshop sessions for creating art and processing images.

Although we know that you wouldn’t miss this workshop for the world, we do realize that life happens, so just in case, please refer to the cancellation policy below. Please be aware that we will be making non-refundable reservations for hotel, transportation, etc.
